WEBB CITY, Mo. —
Cyle L. Pierson, age 52, of Webb City, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at his home following a four year battle with cancer. Cyle's goal throughout his illness was to be able to walk his daughter down the aisle for her wedding, which he was able to do.
Cyle was born July 14, 1961, the son of John and Geraldine Pierson in Joplin, Mo. Cyle was raised in the Carl Junction area and graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1980, where he was a member of the basketball team. He also attended MSSU. He had lived in Webb City the last 21 years. Cyle was the owner of G&J Machine Shop in Webb City. He was a member of Christ's Church of Oronogo. Cyle was an avid Webb City Cardinal Football fan as well as the Pittsburg Steelers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Cyle and his family enjoyed traveling to Destin, Fla., for family vacations.
Cyle married Dorothy Scherle May 15, 1987, in Joplin. She survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Amanda Russell and husband, Louis, Springfield, Mo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ's Church, of Oronogo, with Ken Ansley and Paul Smith, Ministers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel. The casket will be closed.
