JOPLIN, Mo —
Nadine Monroe, age 97, joined family and friends in heaven on Monday, May 7, 2012.
Nadine was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church. She joined as a young girl, grew up in the church and played the piano on Sunday mornings. She and her mother also operated the telephone switchboard out of their home in Nashville, Mo. Whether it was connecting two friends for a conversation or calling the doctor for an emergency in the night, Nadine was always on duty.
She was later employed by the Joplin School District as a cook at Eastmoreland School. Nadine was passionate about putting her apron on each morning and getting to work on the childrens lunch. Noodles and cinnamon rolls were among her favorites because she knew they were sure to bring a smile to the faces of many. Nadine will be missed greatly by family and friends. Until we meet again!
Graveside services are planned for Thursday at 3 pm at Nashville Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
