Matilda Theresa (Tilly) Taylor

JOPLIN, Mo. —

Matilda Theresa (Tilly) Taylor, age 61, passed away at 3:31 am Friday, May 4th, 2012, at her residence following an illness.

Born Oct. 22, 1950, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of Charles G. McKenna and Geraldine M. Rice McKenna. She was an avid homemaker and enjoyed the company of their children as they were growing up. She was a member of the Earl J. Bruton Post No. 534 Womens Auxiliary.

On March 13, 1976, she married James V. Taylor, in Chicago. He survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Kenneth Phillips and wife, of Carl Junction, Mo., Keith Taylor, of Joplin, and Bruce Taylor and wife, of Joplin; two daughters, April Harper and husband, of Joplin, and Kimberly Marney and husband, of Joplin; three stepchildren, Kimberly Cavish and husband, of Geneva, Ill., Barbara Taylor and James Taylor, of Montgomery, Ill.; a sister, Charlotte Mahan, of Chicago; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 10,  at the Christs Church of Oronogo, following private graveside service. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
