JOPLIN, Mo. —
Mary Josephine "Josie" Quick, 67, passed away April 22, 2013, at her home in Joplin, Mo.
Josie was born Sept. 21, 1945, to Helen and Henry Lopez in Horton, Kan. She was a resident of Jasper County for the past 29 years. Josie worked for Oxford Home Health Care for 10 years before retiring in 2012. She was an active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and deer hunting. She especially loved time with her grandchildren and family. Josie was a survivor of the May 22, 2011 Joplin tornado.
Josie was survived by her husband, Mike Quick, of 29 years; her mother, Helen Lopez, of Atchison, Kan.; three daughters, Kari Casteel and husband, Jeff, of Lenexa, Kan., Ronny Jo Nicklin and husband, David, of Basehor, Kan., and Dawn Williams, of Kansas City, Kan.; four sons, Ron Williams II and wife, Amanda, of Kansas City, Corey Quick and wife, Shelly, Aaron Lefebure and wife, Miranda, both of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Travis Quick and wife, Sheila, of Liberty, Mo.; five brothers Charles Lopez, of Topeka, Kan., Michael Lopez, of Iowa, Richard Lopez, of Basehor, Fred Lopez and Hank Lopez, both of Texas; one sister, Connie Kasl, of Atchison; and 16 grandchildren. She was preceded by her father, Henry Lopez.
Services will be a Rosary to begin at 6 p.m. with visitation to follow from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage, Mo. Additional services will be a visitation held Friday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Arensberg Pruett Funeral Home Atchison. Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at St. Joseph Church, Atchison. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Atchison.
