JOPLIN, Mo. —
Mary Lou Turnbull, age 85, Joplin, passed away at 12:36 a.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Mercy Hospital.
Mary Lou was born May 19, 1928, in Joplin to the late Orva J. Williams and Pauline Robinson Williams and was a lifetime Joplin resident. A homemaker, she had worked at the Fox Midwest Theaters for 12 years.
She was a former member of Blendville Rebekah Lodge; Ruth Chapter #177, Order of Eastern Star and Azotus #5, White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She married Robert Leo Turnbull on Dec. 6, 1947 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Turnbull.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Turnbull, Joplin; a son, Bobby L. Turnbull, Joplin; one sister, Maxine Morris, California; a grandson, Donny Turnbull, Joplin; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Cemetery. Eastern Star services will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary, after which, the family will receive friends until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Shrine Club Travel Fund, in care of Parker Mortuary.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Croy and staff for all the years of caring for Mary Lou.
