COMMERCE, OK — Herman C. "Mr. Mac" McMullin, age 83, of Commerce, Okla., passed away at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010, in his home surrounded by family. Born Nov. 24, 1926, in Cromwell, Okla., he served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946, in Europe and upon discharge he attended and graduated from East Central University in Ada, Okla. He moved to the Picher-Cardin area in 1951, and began a long educational career that ended upon his retirement from Picher-Cardin school district in 1988. He served many years as mayor of Cardin, Okla. He was a member of the Seminole Tribe of Oklahoma. On June 1, 1952, he married Grace Elizabeth Sanders, who survives at the home. He is also survived by three sons and two daughters, Larry R. McMullin and wife, Mary Kay, of Springfield, Mo., Gary L. McMullin and wife, Debbie, of Flower Mound, Texas, Charles D. McMullin and wife, Ann, of Claremore, Okla., and Elizabeth Ann Littlejohn and husband, Scott, of Commerce, Rebecca Ann Thomasson and husband, Troy, of Quapaw, Okla. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two great-grandchildren preceded him in death. Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 21, at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Miami, Okla. Pastor Leon Weece will officiate. The family will receive friends after the services.
