JOPLIN, Mo. —
Kolbin Shay Evans, age 16, Joplin, passed away at 10:28 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
Kolbin was born Aug. 14, 1997, in Joplin, and had lived in the area all of his life. He was a sophomore at Carl Junction High School and was working at C.S.T. in Joplin.
Kolbin was a typical teenage boy. He loved music, woodworking and hanging out with his friends. He was artistic and always seemed to have a smile on his face, even when things were not going his way. He had an incredible spirit that will be missed by all of his friends and family.
He is survived by his mother and father (dad), Amber and Jon Cogbill, Joplin; his secondary father, Sterling Peppers, Carthage; a brother, Klay Ackerson, Joplin; a sister, Kelsie Ackerson, Joplin; paternal grandmother, Nancy Page, Carthage; aunts, Savanah "Aunt Nana" Ackerson, Megan Page, Carlie Page Dodge, Tabatha Page and Amy Page Oxford; uncles, Steven Grunden, Jason Page, Aaron Frazier and Nathaniel Page; and several other extended family members and many friends.
Services are planned for Saturday at 10 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Bobby Cooper will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Parker Mortuary.
