QUAPAW, Okla. —
Eva Elizabeth Dannels, age 90, 68501 East 20th Road, passed away at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Mo.
Mrs. Dannels was born July 21, 1922, in Picher, Okla. Her parents were Lester and Opal (Thomas) Brown. She had lived on the same farm since 1966, moving from Picher.
She worked several years at King Louie Shirt Factory, Baxter Springs, Kan., retiring in 1981. She was an accomplished seamstress. She also was known for her cake decorating. Her favorite pastime was lounging at the family swimming hole.
She was married to Bill Dannels on June 4, 1966, in Pineville, Mo. He survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Billy Cheater, Peoria, Okla.; one daughter, Judy Inman, Miami, Okla.; four grandchildren, Michael Dean Sharbutt, Christine Elizabeth Sharbutt, Nancy Marie Sharbutt and Jason Ray Sharbutt; eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Mickey Leatherman; one stepson, Mike Sumpter; one granddaughters, Bobbie Jo Sharbutt; and one sister, Frieda Leatherman.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, Kan. Pastor Audie Tash will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, Kan.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, at the funeral home.
