Marie Joyce (Brooks) Frerer

JASPER, MO —

Marie Joyce (Brooks) Frerer passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, surrounded by her family.

Marie was born June 13, 1929, in Jasper County, Mo., to Chester L. Brooks and Ethel Edna (Bowers) Brooks.

She married Joseph L. Frerer Jr. on Sept. 2, 1950, at Zion Baptist Church, east of Jasper, Mo. Together they raised six children.

She was a lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church and a member of Jasper VFW Post 6415 Ladies Auxiliary. Prior to her marriage she was employed at Production Credit and University of Missouri Extension Office in Carthage, Mo. She was a homemaker and in later years worked at Little Folks Daycare.

Survivors include three sons, Michael L. Frerer(Shirley), of Carthage, Fred B. Frerer (Raye) Duquesne, Mo., and Mark W. Frerer(Mary), of Carl Junction, Mo.; and three daughters, Susan M. Myers (Steven), of Jasper, Rebecca Ann Terrill (Bill), of Carthage, and Rachel Jan Sturm (Paul), of Chillicothe, Mo. Additional survivors include one sister, Edna Lorraine Walker; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Ralph E. Brooks; and two sisters, Daisy Evelyn Wagstrom and Velma Dee Lawton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29th, with funeral services being held Thursday, Aug. 30th, at 2 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper.

Memorial contributions to Gideons International in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper.
