Wayne Eugene Sizemore, age 80, of Weir, Kan., passed away Dec. 12, 2011, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan.
Wayne was born Oct. 8, 1931, to the union of Theodore S. and Stella Mae (Ludlum) Sizemore.
Wayne married Charlotte Pfetcher in Las Vegas, Nev., on Oct. 22, 1955. She preceded him in death Feb. 23, 1962. He later married Renate R. (Pikas) Jarvis in San Bernadino, Calif., on Aug. 14, 1988. She survives of the home.
Wayne was a pipefitter-welder for Louisiana Pacific and Wolf Creek Power Plant. He proudly served in the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, of Trona, Calif., and the Pipefitter-Welder’s Union Local 664, Frontenac, Kan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially mentoring with his grandsons.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Charlotte.
He is survived by his wife, Renate; four sons, Douglas Wayne Sizemore, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Martin C. Sizemore, of Galena, Kan., James Kevin Sizemore, of Galena, and Dan Thompson Salisburg, Md.; two daughters, Stella A. Drenik, of Pittsburg, and Brenda Martin, of Galena; five stepchildren, Becky Ragonese, of Pittsburg, Gary Edwards, of Pittsburg, Gail Joslin, of Raytown, Mo., Steven Edwards, of Galena, and Paul Edwards, of Pittsburg; one brother, Nick Sizemore, of Ridgecrest, Calif.; and two sisters, Delores Hudson, of Ridgecrest, and Virginia Devena, of Hutchinson, Kan.; numerous grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, Kan. Pastor Laura Grotheer will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Friends and family may call on the family at Stella’s home, 212 West Adams Street, Pittsburg.
