JOPLIN, MO —
Lana Kay Shilling, age 57, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan., following a sudden illness.
Lana was born Dec. 30, 1954, in Stella, Mo., to Chester and Emma (Kite) Phelps.
Lana was the manager of Mazzio’s Pizza in Neosho. She was a member of the Chief Blackdog’s Trail Muzzle Loader Club.
Lana married William W. Shilling on Sept. 4, 1984, in Miami, Okla. He survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Steven Allen Long, of Joplin; two brothers, Ron Phelps and wife, Ruth, of Carthage, Mo., and J.W. Phelps and wife, Gwen, of Rocky Comfort, Mo.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, at the Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort. James B. Lankford Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
