JOPLIN, Mo. —
James Michael "Mike" Bryson, age 62, Joplin, passed away at 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Mercy ER after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Mike was born Dec. 31, 1950, in Jasper County, Mo., to the late James Samuel Bryson and Imo Jean Aggus Bryson.
Mike had worked in sales for most of his adult life. He was a sports fanatic. He enjoyed fishing and loved to throw darts. Mike was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. While he was stationed in Bermuda, he played softball for the Navy. He continued to play softball and baseball after he was discharged from the military.
Survivors include two sisters, Jane Bryson, Joplin, and Jeanni Carrico, Albuquerque, N.M.; four nieces and nephews, James Paul Robson, David Michael Robson, Lora Elizabeth Morgan and Candi Carrico; and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
At Mike's request, he has been taken for cremation. No formal services are planned, but there will be a register for friends to sign at the mortuary.
