Richard Leroy Coffey died May 10, 2013, 3:45 pm, at his home following a short Illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; his parents, James and Celia Coffey; and his five brothers, Lloyd, Leonard, Don, Bob and Larry; and one sister, Dorothy.
Richard moved his family in 1976, to Lamar from Plattsburg, Mo., after leaving Owens Corning Fiberglass, Kansas City, to become a farmer. He retired from farming in 2008, after which he began driving a dump truck in Jasper, Mo.
Richard is survived by his two sons, Richard Coffey and wife, Linda, of Kansas City, Mo. and Kenneth Coffey and wife, Debbie, of Carterville, Mo.; one daughter, Pamela Dunn and husband, Randy, of Carthage; 12 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and two sisters, Ileen Gary and husband, George, of Joplin and Rosemary Carsten and husband, Al, of Nevada, Mo.
Visitation will be at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 13.
His family requests that Memorial gifts be made to Lamar FFA.
