Phyllis Pim

JOPLIN, Mo. — Phyllis Pim, a lifetime resident of Joplin, Mo., joined her awaiting husband in heaven on May 20, 2013.

Phyllis was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Joplin. She was the daughter of the late Pete Dawald and Helen Trease Dawald.

Phyllis retired from the Joplin R-8 School District as a secretary at Irving Elementary School after 10 years of service. She also worked as a bookkeeper at Higdon's Florist and Charles Florist. Phyllis also enjoyed playing Bridge with friends at the Women's Club and was a member of the Y Matrons. She was also a volunteer at LifeChoices in Joplin.

Phyllis and her husband, J.P., spent their retirement years visiting all 30 major league ball parks. They were both avid St. Louis Cardinals fans. Along with a group of friends from First Baptist Church, they have been traveling and camping over the past 30 years. She always enjoyed watching her grandkids participating in all their activities. She was a very proud of each of them.

She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Ousley and husband, Steve and Melinda Campbell and husband, Derik; four grandkids, Grant and Hailey Ousley, Trevor and Maddie Campbell, all of Joplin. She is also survived by many sister and brothers-in-law, an uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
