JOPLIN, MO —
Jeanne C. Burch, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, following a long illness.
Jeanne was born on Nov. 17, 1930. She lived the majority of her life in the Joplin, Mo. Area.
Jeanne loved music and was a beautiful vocalist. She had plans to pursue a career in music until she met and married the love of her life, Walter Burch, on March 15, 1950. They enjoyed over 50 years of life together as they made a career in the military. Jeanne and Walter proudly served this country in the U.S. Air Force. After retirement they returned to Joplin, where they lived out their lives together. She also enjoyed a career of her own, working in the banking business, until she also retired.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, who passed away in 2007. Both her parents and her childhood friend/cousin, Jane Greishauber, also preceded her in death.
Jeanne lived in her home until she became ill in 2010, and moved to the Greenbriar Nursing Center in Joplin, where she lived comfortably until the May 22nd tornado destroyed the home and she was safely moved to her new home at the Truman Healthcare and Rehab in Lamar, Mo. She was well taken care of and loved there.
Jeanne leaves behind many friends who will always remember her as a loving, cheerful and caring friend. We have all been blessed with knowing this lovely lady and she will be missed.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Wes Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The visitation will be open during regular visiting hours beginning at noon on Thursday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
