Kristopher "Cade" Hawkins

ASBURY, Mo. — Kristopher "Cade" Hawkins, age 24, of Asbury, Mo. (formerly of Carl Junction, Mo.), passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013,  after a fatal car accident.

Cade was born March 19, 1989, to Jimmy D. and Susan (Winder) Hawkins. Cade was a 2007 graduate of Carl Junction High School, he was an avid outdoorsman who lived life to the fullest. However, his greatest accomplishment was being Zoey's dad. Zoey and her dad only had 13 months together, but he loved her and watched over her every single day of his life. Now, he is her guardian angel... still loving her... still watching over her... every single day, for the rest of her life.

Cade is survived by his daughter, Zoey Delynn Morton and her mother, Sierra Sky Morton; parents, Jim and Susan Hawkins, of Asbury; brothers, Chad and Samantha Hawkins, of Carl Junction, and Kyle Hawkins, of Asbury; nieces, Baby Cakes and LaShaya Hawkins, of Carl Junction, and Kendall Hawkins, of Asbury; nephews, Laydon and Laykin Hawkins, of Carl Junction; aunts and uncles, Terry and Dianne Winder, of Webb City, Kris Winder, of Webb City, Nancy and Jim Eden, of Joplin, Janet and Ron Cook, of Joplin, and Rosemary and Ron Combs, of Joplin; and step grandfather, Al Melton, of Webb City. Additional survivors include many cousins and other extended family members, as well as a host of friends including lifelong friends and others he may have just met, but instantly were drawn to him and his friendliness. Cade was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lucille Winder, of Webb City; maternal grandfather, Bill Winder, of Joplin; and paternal grandparents, Norma and Buck Hawkins, of Webb City.

Funeral services for Cade will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Webb City, with burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7  p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Webb City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Zoey's Care, a fund established for the care and future education of his daughter. Contributions may be made in care of the funeral home or any US Bank.

Cade will be remembered as a friend to many, a stranger to none and much loved and surely missed by all.
