JOPLIN, Mo. —
Teresa Sue "Suzy" Brown, age 58, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at her home with family at her side.
Suzy was born Feb. 25, 1954, in Tucson, Ariz., daughter of the late Paul Lloyd Brown and Barbara June Baron Brown. She grew up living in several locations including Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, and California. While she was growing up, her grandparents on her mothers side of the family always lived in Joplin, and this was a good place to come home to, so she moved to Joplin in 1980.
She worked at Smitty's Grocery Store for four years before going to work at Wal-Mart on W. 7th Street in Joplin. She worked there for over 14 years. She was also very involved with the twelve step program for the past 23 years, just recently receiving her 23 year pin.
Survivors include her son, Jared Prier, of Maryville, Mo.; daughters, Tracy Widick and Tim Doran, of Carl Junction, Mo., Crystal Pippin, of Carthage, Mo.; adopted daughter, Crystal Stewart, also of Carthage; brother, Steven Brown and wife, Kim, of Lincoln, Neb.; sister, Debbie King, of Minneapolis, Minn.; the love of her life, Bob Nethery, of Joplin; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Landon Justice officiating with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m.
