JOPLIN, MO —
Born April 21, 1913, in Geneva, Texas, Lynn Moody passed away on Sept. 30, 2012. She spent her childhood in East Texas, and moved to Houston, where she served as church secretary at Bethel Baptist Church.
She married Lloyd Boudreaux and they enjoyed many years together before he passed away. Several years later she married a longtime friend, Jack Moody and they moved to Palestine, Texas, where he died in 1997.
She came to live with her son, Sid and his wife, Marj in Joplin, Mo. in January 1998.
Lynn was an outgoing person; she looked forward to meeting her friends at the Joplin Association for the Blind Center each week and often called them to chat. College Heights Christian Church was her church home, after many years at North Joplin Christian Church. She walked every day at the Y with a companion and enjoyed her grandchildren as they painted her fingernails, sat on her lap, walked her around the block and made cinnamon rolls with her. She let them ride on her walker and slipped them gum or candy or quarters on the side. Her weekly trip to J.C.Penney was a highlight of the week, for she always wanted her beautiful white hair to look good.
Lynn Moody is the beloved mother of Sid Boudreaux (wife, Marj); dearly loved grandmother to Roberta Pommert (husband, Rob),Scott Boudreaux (wife, Darla), Jamie Boudreaux (wife, Britt), Sharon Martin and Carolyn Plassman (husband, Jason); cherished great-grandmother to Drew Pommert (wife, Jessica), Justin Boudreaux (wife, Erin), Devin, Alivia, Christian, Jenna, Lilly, Cael Plassman; Mackenzie and Jack Boudreaux, Caden and Layne Pennick. She was glad to hold her first great-great-granddaughter, Diana Pommert. She was greatly loved by her many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.
Lynn had a wonderful day Sunday, Sept. 30, attending a church service with her friend, Bev and meeting Scott, Justin and Erin along with dear friends, Danny, Mina and Aaron Gossard at Christ's Church, Oronogo. She went to lunch, came home, took a nap, got up to celebrate Jenna's birthday and four hours later went to be with the Lord.
Although she was legally blind, she delighted in her many friends and family. We will miss her, but rejoice to think of her singing with the saints and dancing on those golden streets.
You are invited to a celebration of life memorial service at College Heights Christian Church on Friday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m., followed by visitation with the family.
The family request no flowers, but memorial gifts may be given to Ozark Christian College or College Heights Christian Church through Parker Mortuary.
