JOPLIN, MO —
Donald Lee Hutson, age 62, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, in his home with family at his side.
Don was born Oct. 1, 1950, in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late Roy Allen Hutson and Imogene Barrow Hutson. He attended school in St. Louis before he and his family moved to Joplin when he was a junior and he graduated from Joplin High School in 1968. He also attended Missouri Southern State University.
Don was a buyer with O&F Manufacturing and then worked for Maxx Transit and Old Dominion. He then began his business, Sign Werks, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2004. He most recently was working at Cycle Connection, of Joplin, as a greeter.
Don was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was a volunteer with Freeman Heart Institute and with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Scott Hutson and wife, Nancy, of Miami, Okla., and Brian Hutson and wife, Dana, of Webb City; stepdaughters, Crystal Nevins and husband, Josh Denham, of Fayetteville, Ark., and Sarah Nunnaley, of Carl Junction; sister, Pat Arnce and husband, Don, of Neosho, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Grant, Mason, Tucker, Conor, Alyssa and Charlee.
Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Signs and Brent Lloyd officiating. The family will receive friends at Fellowship Baptist Church from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service.
