Marlene Sue Chester

SENECA, MO —

 

Marlene Sue Chester, 69, Seneca, Mo., passed into eternal rest after a long illness at her home in rural Seneca, at 1 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, surrounded by her family.

Marlene Sue Chester was born Nov. 2, 1943, in Fairland, Okla., the daughter of Wilmer and Dorothy (Hamon) Heistand. Sue worked for the former Seneca Gas Company and for Sunbeam in Neosho. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seneca.

Sue married Jerry Chester Dec. 21, 1972, in Seneca. He survives.

Additional survivors include her daughter, Mandy and husband, Dr. Raymond Vetsch, Joplin; her son and grandson, Kyler Chester, of the home; her sons, Steven Plummer, Joplin, and Christopher Plummer and wife, Mary, Wentworth, Mo.; one brother, David Hiestand, Seneca; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Barbara Hirsch.

Graveside services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery with Rev. James Shope officiating. Friends may call on the family at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Friday, May 4, from 7 to 8 p.m.
