JOPLIN, Mo. —
Judy Kay Haney, age 72, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Mercy Hospital following a long illness.
Judy was born on July 23, 1940, in Joplin, the daughter of the late Robert and Laverne (Tindell) Foster. She has been a lifetime area resident. Judy worked as a dental assistant for many years, having worked for Dr. Grant until 1973, later working for Dr. Dan Haney until her illness forced her to retire in 2001.
She married Dr. Dan Haney in July of 1995. He survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Shonna Messner and her husband, Frank, of Joplin, and Gina Bailey and her husband, Jerry, of Joplin; one stepdaughter, Brandie Simms and her husband, David, of Melbourne, Fla.; two stepsons, David Haney and his wife, Anitra, of Jefferson City, Mo., and Todd Haney and his wife, Cheryl, of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Bob Foster and his wife, Judy, of Webb City, Mo.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday evening.
