SENECA, Mo. —
Rose Etta Rainey Fisher, age 71, of Seneca, Mo., passed away at her home on Feb. 18, 2014, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Rose was born June 6, 1942, to the late Frank and Nona Bell Garrison Rainey in Carl Junction, Mo., and was a resident of Webb City her entire life.
On May 24, 1973, Rose married Joe Fisher in Webb City, Mo. He survives at the home.
Rose was a hard worker and dedicated wife and mother. She retired from Martin Oil Company after dedicating many years assisting the late Larry Martin as his office manager. Rose loved to be outside. She enjoyed flowers, cooking and gardening as much as she could. She worked hard living on the farm helping her husband out as his second hand. Rose was a faithful member of the Seneca Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by a daughter, Taylor Hopper and husband, Tommy, of Grand Lake Towne, Okla.; one son, Randy Green and wife, Laura, of Seneca; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Downing, of Carthage; stepsons, Rusty Fisher, of Webb City, and Robert Fisher, of Carthage; two sisters, Mary Brown, of Carthage, and Sandy Spencer, of Carl Junction; one brother, Johnny Rainey, of Joplin; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney and David Green; and brothers, LeRoy and James Rainey.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, Feb. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Seneca Christian Church. Doug Lawson, minister, will be officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
