CARTHAGE, Mo. —
Floyd Ray Sullivan, age 89, of Carthage, Mo., passed away June 15, 2013.
He was born Aug. 20, 1923, in the state of Kentucky, to Otha G. and Lessie Margaret (Houchins) Sullivan. He was a retired zone manager for Ford Motor Company, retiring after 31 years of service in 1984. Floyd was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of the Carthage American Legion, and a member of Center Point Christian Church.
Floyd was united in marriage to Mary Rood on June 23, 1944. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Deborah Ellington, of Atlanta, Ga., and Cheryl Matthews, of Milford, Pa.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Floyd Ray Sullivan Jr. and Larry Eugene Sullivan; and one daughter, Candace Sue Monroe.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 20, at Center Point Christian Church, east of Carthage. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 19, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Center Point Christian Church. Burial will be in Cicero Cemetery, Cicero, Ind.
Memorial contributions can be made to Ozark Christian College in care of the funeral home.
