CARL JUNCTION, Mo. —
Mrs. Uva Rhea Crosby, 95, of Carl Junction, Mo., departed this life on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage, Mo., after months of declining health.
Uva entered this life on March 11, 1917, in Blake, Mo. to the late John and Pearl (Rowland) Duly. She was raised in the Kansas City, Mo. area. On December 19, 1931, she was united in marriage to Clay Calvin Crosby and to this union a son and daughter were born. She and Clay resided in Anderson, Mo. for several years before moving to Carl Junction, in 1975.
Besides being a devoted homemaker, she also worked for Kraft Foods and later retired from the McDonald County School District. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carl Junction, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, of 67 years, Clay Crosby on March 15, 1999; a grandson, Bernie Dean Crosby; and four siblings.
Uva is survived by her two children, Clayton Bernie Crosby and wife, Betty, of Carl Junction; and Brenda Fenix and husband, David, of Joplin, Mo.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crosby are 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at the First Baptist Church in Carl Junction, Mo. with Bro. Russell Roderick officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Mo. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Clayton Crosby, Gary Crosby, Shawn Kreighbaum, Eddie Kreighbaum, Michael Fenix and David Fenix. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers memorial are being directed to the Salvation Army or the Carl Junction First Baptist Church.
