CARTERVILLE, MO — Julia C. Snyder, 88, of Carterville, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1924, in Joplin, Mo., to Tom Riggs and Rosa Fennel Riggs. Julia was a member of the Carterville Christian Church and a homemaker.

She married William E. Snyder on July 26, 1941, in Joplin. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2003.

Julia is survived by her sons, Neil Snyder and wife, Lora, of Joplin, Michael Snyder and wife, Cindi, of Joplin, and Mark Snyder and wife, Janet, of Olathe, Kan.; daughter, Judith Allen and husband, Kenneth, of Carterville; sister, Elsie Pendergraft, of Webb City; brother, Charles Ray Riggs, of Florida; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Wilkins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Carterville Park Fund in her memory.

Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
