PURCELL, MO — Henry "Harvey" Cook, age 91, of Purcell, Mo., passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at 10:48 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Mr. Cook was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Neck City, Mo., to Joseph and Flora (Howell) Cook. Mr. Cook was a member of the Alba Friends Church and was the parts manager of EA Martins Machinery.

He married Mary L. Smith  March 28, 1942, in Alba, Mo. She preceded him in death Aug. 2, 2010.

He is survived by his daughter, Gail Creed and husband, Kenny, of Joplin; sons, John Cook and wife, Vaughnda, of Neck City, and Greg Cook and wife, Susie, of Carl Junction; grandchildren, Chad Cook and wife, Jaime, Valerie Pruitt and husband, Will, Travis Creed and wife, Katie, Seth Creed, Kelly Hudson and husband, Chase and Emily Cook; and great-grandchildren, Sydney, Makayla, Savannah, Ethan, Aubrey, Jenna, Barrett Henry, Tyler, Wyatt and Avery.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the Simpson Funeral Home with Pastors Steve Patterson, Gerald Holden and Duane Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Friends Cemetery in Purcell. Pallbearers will be Chad Cook, Travis Creed, Seth Creed, Will Pruitt, Darley Joe Cook and Jerry Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Chase Hudson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Alba Friends Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home, of Webb City.
