JOPLIN, MO —

Joel Antonio Bogarin Lopez, age 22, of Joplin, passed away Thursday at Freeman West Hospital.

Joel was born April 9, 1990, in Riverside, Calif., to Nicolas and Arcelia Bogarin and had lived in the Joplin area for 15 years. Joel was presently employed by McAlister's Deli in Joplin.

In addition to his parents, Joel is survived by a son, Brixtyn; mother of Brixtyn, Nikki Ryan, both of Joplin; three sisters, Jaqueline Bogarin, Joceline Bogarin and Xochilt Bogarin, all of Joplin; and his maternal grandmother, Feliciana Lopez, of Mexico.

Services for Joel will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Iglesia Bavtista Comunidad Chistiana Church in Webb City, with Pastor Arturo Nunez officiating. Burial will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Parker Mortuary. The family will have a 24 hour vigil beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday and ending 1pm Wednesday at the church.
