JOPLIN, MO —
Marlene Seaton, age 78, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Joplin Health & Rehab Center, following an illness.
Marlene was born on Oct. 7, 1934, in Joplin, the daughter of the late Henry and Imogene Armstrong
Marlene worked at LaBarge as an assembler until the early 1980s and was a weekend receptionist for Mason-Woodard Mortuary until the early 1990s. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Joplin, where she volunteered at the church and at Crosslines. Marlene enjoyed quilting and working with stained glass.
She married Jerry Seaton on April 19, 1969. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1998.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Sadler, of Joplin, and Lynn Seaton and his wife, Charis, of Joplin; one daughter, Connie Kohler and her husband, Gary, of Joplin; one brother, Hank Armstrong and his wife, Sue, of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Lu Ann Buzzard and her husband, Jack, of Naples, Fla., and Kay Brann and her husband, Will, of Jefferson City, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Marlene was preceded in death by a son, Terry; a daughter, Ivy Sue; and a grandson.
Memorial graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church in care of the mortuary.
