PITTSBURG, KS —
Paula G. Atkinson, 55, of Pittsburg, Kan., passed away Jan. 17, 2013, at home following a three-year battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 4, 1957, in Pittsburg, the daughter of John Holly Beecham and Donna Jean (Hoy) Bower.
She married Keith Atkinson on Sept. 22, 1978, in Miami, Okla. She worked as a medical secretary at the Via Christi cancer center in Pittsburg. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Pittsburg.
She is survived by her husband; children, Ryan Atkinson, of Pittsburg, Trever Atkinson and wife, Samantha, of Columbus, Kan., Brian Atkinson and wife, Jacque, of Arma, Kan., and Kristy Jones and husband, Greg, of Scammon, Kan.; grandchildren, Karley and Kerri Jones and Laney and Cole Atkinson; a stepfather, Cloyd Bower, of Pittsburg; a sister, Lanna Bower, of Keller, Texas; and stepsiblings, Calvin Bower, of Carthage, Mo., Marvin Bower, of Pittsburg, and Kim Weber, of Pittsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Doug Beecham; a sister, Pamela Jaeger; and a grandson, Joseph Todd Atkinson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 816 East Quincy, Pittsburg. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Bath Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg.
