JOPLIN, MO —
Eula Faye Bridgett, age 84, Joplin, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Eula was born June 3, 1928, in Joplin, to the late Andrew Durossette and Della Inez Purscelley Durossette and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
She worked as the secretary for the Joplin Women's Bowling Association for over 20 years. She was an avid bowler and bowled in several state, regional and national tournaments. Eula was named state champion in Tennessee in 1968.
Eula was preceded in death by two husbands, Fred Brown in 1982 and D.C. Bridgett in 1979.
Eula was also preceded in death by two children, Earl "Pete" Severs Jr. and Kevin Brown; and one brother, Andrew Durossette Jr.
Survivors include a son, Les Severs, Joplin; one daughter, Marcia Lane, Joplin; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Eula has been taken for cremation.
A graveside committal is planned for Monday at 10 a.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
