HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA —
Dorene Schooley Woods, passed away peacefully, Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the age of 91, in Huntington Beach, Calif., with her son by her side.
Dorene was born to Faye and Floyd Schooley in Pittsburg, Kan., Sept. 2, 1921.
She was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) William Woods and they were married until Bob passed away in December 1982. They had two sons, Douglas William Woods and Robert Clayton Woods.
Dorene worked for the Social Security Administration for many years before retiring. Dorene was a lively witty spirit who enjoyed playing Bridge with friends and many an hour of card games with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, golf and football fan.
Dorene is survived by her son, Rob Woods, of Huntington Beach; five grand children; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Taylor, of Carthage; and three nieces. Her son, Douglas W. Woods, also preceded her in death, December 2009.
She was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church.
She will be missed by numerous friends and family; however, will joyously reunite with her loved ones in heaven.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date
