JOPLIN, Mo. —
Roy William "Bill" Jackson, age 75, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at his home with family at his side following a lengthy illness.
Bill was born Mar. 10, 1937, in Vincennes, Ind., son of the late Roy Elmer Jackson and Kathleen Williams Jackson. He worked for NASCO Manufacturing for over 20 years, retiring as a Foreman with the Outside Machinist Division where he helped build ships for the United States Navy. He moved to Joplin in 1993.
In addition to his parents; Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Drane; and a brother, Willard David Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, of 49 years, Marge; his children, Mark Wayne Jackson and wife, Sharon, of Sparta, Mo., and daughter, Tammy Lynn Riley and husband, James, of Alpine, Calif.; grandchildren, Ashley Riley, Haley Riley, Rachael Riley, Matthew Jackson, Evan Jackson, and Melissa Jackson; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Mac, Mitchell, Tristan, and Everett; a brother, Ralph Jackson and wife, Reggie, of Carl Junction, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 2 p. m. in the Parker Mortuary Chapel with Fr. Justin Monaghan officiating. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary following the service.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
