Geraldine "Gerri" Copeland Macy Wilson

GRANBY, MO —

Geraldine "Gerri" Wilson, 85, peacefully entered into rest with her family at her side on Jan. 26, 2013, at Granby House, Granby, Mo., following an illness.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1927, in Joplin, Mo., to William and Elsie (Wampler) Copeland.

Gerri was a lifelong area resident and had resided in the Diamond area for the past 50 years. She worked for Safeway Bakery and Wal-Mart. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Spring City, Mo. Church of Christ.

Gerri married Marvin Macy on Feb. 8, 1944, and from this marriage three children were born, Jerry Macy (deceased), Sandy Cullum, of Monett, Mo., and Debbie Carter (Steve), of Diamond, Mo., and daughter-in-law, Leona Macy, Carthage, Mo. Gerri is also survived by grandchildren Jeff Macy (Kathy), Chris Macy (Ronda), Angie Swadley (Jeff), Wendy Elder (Dustin), John Carter (Cassy) and Ben Carter; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Tommy Copeland, Bobby Copeland, Frank Copeland, Billy Copeland and Mickey Copeland. Marvin preceded Gerri in death on March 7, 1985. Along with her husband and son, she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Chuck, Jack and Kenneth Copeland; and sisters, Eunice Copeland, Maybelline Wilburn and June Arehart.

Gerri married J.T. Wilson on July 14, 1986. He survives.

She is also survived by stepchildren, Stanley Wilson, of Diamond, Mo., Melonie Cline (Paul), of Carthage, and Candalea Wilson, of Neosho; step grandchildren, Tiffany Wilson, Tara Wilson, Matt Cline (Beth), Holly Brock (Matt), Emily Baxter (Brent), Sunny Lewis (Butch), Bobbie Jo Cornell (Chris), Levi Ellison and Shannon Payne; and eight step great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by step grandchild, Jeanie Payne.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Clark Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, Granby. Bob Stafford officiating. Honoring "Gram" as pallbearers will be her grandsons. The body will lie in state Thursday, Jan. 31, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Diamond Cemetery, Diamond.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gerri to Fairhaven Children's Home in care of Clark Funeral Home P.O. Box 26 Granby, MO 64844.
