SENECA, Mo. —

Genevieve M. Rogers, 91, Seneca, Mo., passed away at 3 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the Seneca House Nursing Home after losing her battle with cancer.

Genevieve was born Nov. 4, 1921, in the old log cabin just north of Seneca, the daughter of Jay and Goldie Ackerson. She attended Frog Pond School and graduated from Seneca High School in 1939.

Genevieve married Warren H. Rogers Oct. 21, 1941, in Joplin, Mo. He preceded her in death Dec. 19, 2002.

Genevieve worked as a union representative for the United Baker's Union in Joplin, for 20 years before retiring.

Surviving children are Dennis and wife, Shirley Rogers, Seneca, Lanny and wife, Nancy Rogers, Joplin, and Randy and wife, Penny Rogers, Joplin. Also surviving is one brother, Calvin Ackerson, Seneca; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Goldie Ackerson; her husband, Warren Rogers; son, Terry Rogers; and one brother, Clifford Ackerson.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Seneca Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Ackerson officiating.

The body has been taken for cremation under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
