NEOSHO, Mo. —
Gary Dean Maddox, age 69, of Neosho, Mo., passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013.
Gary was born on June 4, 1943, in Joplin, Mo., the son of Robert D. Maddox and Pauline (Withrow) Snodgrass. He lived in the Joplin area most of his life, Gary proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as part of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Schreiber Foods as a mechanic for over 30 years. He was a member of N.H.R.A., Mustang Club and Joplin Rifle and Pistol Club.
He married Ruby Owens in 1965, then married, Sharon Moore in 1971, and Virginia Lichty in 1989, who preceded in him death in 2007.
He was also preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Snodgrass and her husband, Clyde, of Joplin; four sons, Dan Maddox, of New Hudson, Mich., Gary Maddox II, of Webb City, Mo., Jon Farmer and wife, Misty, of Goodman, Mo., and Mark Farmer and wife, Tammy, of Carl Junction, Mo.; two daughters, Stacy Farmer-Webb and her husband, Neal, of Joplin, and Michelle Olson and her husband, Rod, of Neosho; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Jeff Kingery will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
