JOPLIN, MO — Lawrence G. (Larry) Taiclet, age 66, of Joplin, passed away at 8:59 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center after suffering an apparent heart attack. Born Dec. 21, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas, he had lived in Joplin the past five years. He was a battery technician for Eagle Picher Industries and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Joplin. On Sept. 29, 1963, he married Marilyn S. Miller, at Miami, Okla. She survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Vincent E. Taiclet, of Red Oak, Texas, and Christopher K. Taiclet, of Grand Prairie, Texas; two daughters, Melissa A. Taiclet, of Miami, Okla., and Connie Culbertson, of Cedar Hill, Texas; his mother, Viola Martin, of Miami; one sister, Jeanne M. Moreland, of Wyandotte, Okla.; and four grandchildren. His father, Lawrence A. Taiclet, preceded him in death. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Graveside committal of cremains will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, with Dwight Seek officiating. The family will be at the home.
