JOPLIN, MO — Marsha Rae (Cairns) Burwick, age 58, of Joplin, Mo., passed from this life Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Marsha was born Oct. 11, 1953, in Joplin, to the union of Ralph and Geneva (Walton) Cairns. She was a beautician and worked for Missouri Styles. She later became a Nurse Technician at Freeman Hospital. She was a member of the New Creation Church, of Joplin. Her hobbies included spending time with her family and especially her dog, Peaches.

Survivors include, one son, Henry Silvey, of Joplin; two sisters, Linda Hendrix and Martha Wells, of Joplin. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Glenda Ray; two sons, Tommy and Canny Clark; and two nephews.           

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs Springs, Kan. Rev. Cliff Mansley will officiate. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday evening, Aug. 26, at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs.
