SENECA, Mo. —
Clifford E. Skaggs, 69, Seneca, Mo., passed into eternal rest at 12:50 a.m. at Mercy Hospital in Joplin after a long illness.
Clifford Earl Skaggs was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Joplin, Mo. the son of Lester E. and Maydeen Skaggs.
Clifford owned and operated Foodfair Grocery in Seneca and also in Baxter Springs, Kan. He formerly worked at the Parson Ammunition Plant and was a Mason of the Neosho Blue Lodge No. 247.
Clifford married Sally Cooper Sept. 16, 1963, in Miami, Okla. and she survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Jonna Skaggs, Seneca; one son, Doug Skaggs and wife, LaFonda, Seneca; siblings Jim Skaggs and wife, Shirley, Seneca, Frank Skaggs and wife, Helen, Seneca, Lois Greenwood, Goodman, Mo., Bill Skaggs and wife, Janice, Seneca, Linda Sprenkle and husband, Paul, Goodman and John Skaggs and wife, Rhonda, Neosho, Mo.; grandchildren, Trevor, Renee, Alissa, Blake, Britney, Brett, Colbey and Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Layn and Kayson. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents Lester E. Skaggs and Maydeen Skaggs (Ray); one brother, Robert Dale Skaggs; and one sister, Donna Jo Lankford.
Graveside services, under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery with Truman Brady officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Durbin, Kenny Rogers, Colbey Skaggs, Trevor Frye, Marty Forrest and David Forrest.
Visitation will be held at the Seneca Christian Church, Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 7 p.m.
