William "Arles" Youngblood

GALENA, Kan. —  William "Arles" Youngblood, age 62, passed from this world at 2:10 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Mercy Hospital after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Galena.

Arles was born to Ottis Gene Youngblod and Betty Jean (Lamb) Youngblood in Joplin, Mo., on Sept. 11, 1950. His parents have preceded him in death.

He married Michelle Cawthra on Jan. 5, 2012.

Arles worked most of his life as a truck driver. His hobbies were Harley motorcycles, fishing and recently learning to play the guitar.

Arles is survived by his wife, Michelle (Cawthra) Youngblood, of Joplin; three daughters, Julie K. Welton, of Joplin, Kelly Dawn Youngblood, of Joplin and Amanda Patron, of Carl Junction, Mo.; two brothers, Michael Lamb, of Galena, Kan. and Dale Youngblood and wife, Jean, of Riverton, Kan.; three sisters, Roberta Caswell and companion,  Dale Martin, of Appleton City, Mo., Tammy Youngblood, of Riverton and Eva Youngblood, of Galena; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arles was preceded in death by one brother at birth; one sister Reta Weakly.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Camp Joy Church, Joplin. Pastor Jeff D. Martin will officiate.
