INOLA, Okla. —
Linda D. Horton, 63, passed away March 27, 2013, in Claremore, Okla.
Linda was born Dec. 25, 1949, in Carthage, to John Sheets and Wilma (Doyle) Sheets. Linda was raised in Carthage and then lived in Webb City for 37 years moving to Inola, Okla., for the past five years. Linda owned and operated Linda's Beauty salon in Webb City, for several years. She was a homemaker, an avid gardener and an animal lover.
Linda was united in marriage to Jerry Horton Sept. 6, 1966, in Carthage. They were married for 46 years and he survives.
Linda is survived by her husband; one son, Jerry Horton Jr., of Inola; two daughters, Kim Horton, of Inola, and Tammy House and husband, Wayne, of Joplin; two grandchildren, Zachary Benjamin House and Brooklyn Taylor Horton; two brothers, Dewey Sheets and wife, Lois, of Carthage, and Dean Sheets and wife, Evon, of Webb City; and one sister, Beverly Rose and husband, John, of Carthage. Linda was preceded by her parents; two half-brothers, Donald Sheets and Stanley Sheets; one half-sister Yveta Pryor; and one grandson, Trenton Wayne House.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage.
