CARTHAGE, Mo. —
Maurice "Maurie" Bruner, 86, of Carthage, Mo., passed away May 1, 2013, in Carthage.
Maurie was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Bloomington, Ind., to Fred Bruner and Adlin Heady Bruner. Maurie was a longtime Carthage resident. He was in the Army Air Corps and Air Force and served in World War II. Maurie was a draftsman and worked in Webb City, at Cardinal Scales, Leggett & Platt, Carthage, and North American Rockwell, Tulsa. He was a member of the Spring River R.C. Club.
Maurie was united in marriage to Kathleen Lee Nov. 20, 1955, at Central Methodist Church Webb City. She survives.
Maurie is survived by one daughter, Machelle Ogle and husband, Steve, of Cary, N.C.; two sons, Eric Bruner and wife, Staci, of Lockwood, Mo., and Tom Bruner, of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Grace Alexandria Bruner, Avery Payton Bruner, Megan Nicole Dobbs and husband, Nate, Braden Logan Ogle, Keygan Bruner and Karson Bruner; and one great-grandson, Eli Dobbs. Maurie is preceded by his parents; two brothers, Edmond Joseph Bruner and James Albert Bruner, both of Bloomington, Ind.; and one son, James E. Bruner.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage.
