JOPLIN, Mo. —
Richard Wayne McWilliams, age 72, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home, following a long illness of Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Richard was born on June 22, 1940, in Bakersfield, Calif., the son of the late Owen and Juanita (Giger) McWilliams. He graduated from the Bakersfield High School in 1958. He married Judy Rupard on Nov. 28, 1959, in Bakersfield, Calif. They moved to Joplin in 1980, from San Diego, Calif. He was a member of the Forest Park Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, of 53 years, Judy McWilliams, Joplin; one son, Randy McWilliams and wife, Melissa, Noel, Mo.; one daughter, Debra Lea Ann Royer and husband, Troy, Neosho, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Brandon Rustad, Garret Rustad, Britany Cranor, Christopher McWilliams, Gregory Davis, Dustin McWilliams, Chelsie Bresee and Jessica McWilliams; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services have been scheduled at 6 p.m. on Thursday May 9, 2013, at Forest Park Baptist Church, Reverend Kevin Schmidt, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
