Cooper Cianci

JOPLIN, Mo. — Cooper Cianci, a child of the one true King, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 4, 2013.

Cooper was born Dec. 15, 1997, in Joplin, to Scott and Jenny Kennedy Cianci and had lived in Joplin all of his life.

Cooper a fun, bright, ornery, tenacious, creative kid was a true comedian who loved making others laugh. Being a natural athlete, he was involved in sports from a young age. Cooper was very competitive and excelled in every activity he tried. Football was his favorite sport but he also played baseball, basketball, did track and wrestled.

Cooper was active in his church Sunday school classes and youth groups. He exemplified his heart for Jesus by being loving and kind. He often befriended those who others might not. Cooper was willing to help others and served on various mission trips and projects.

You would often find Cooper working beside his dad. He helped his mom and grandparents whenever asked. He was a true friend to his cousins and buddies. Cooper was a typical brother to his older sister, yet everyone knew not to mess with her or he would take care of it.

His family loved him beyond belief and he is going to be missed by many. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Chandler Cianci, of the home; maternal grandparents, Bob and Gail Kennedy, Carl Junction; paternal grandparents, Gary and Linda Kyger, Joplin; maternal great-grandfather, Howard Fletcher, Galena, Kan.; aunts and uncles, Jeff and Jennifer Kennedy, Carl Junction, Karen Kennedy, Joplin, Kathy Kennedy, Joplin, Tara Kyger, Joplin, Trey and Amy Sevier, Salem, Ala., and Adam Crotts, Kansas City, Mo.; cousins, Aubree Kelley, Jesse Kennedy, Jeremiah Kennedy, Jillian Kennedy, Rhiannon Sevier, Savannah Sevier, Brayden Kyger, Hayden Heikkila, Haydrain Heikkila and Hayley Heikkila; and many friends and teammates. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patty Blake Kennedy and grandfather, Jerrold Earl Cianci.

Memorial services are planned for Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Diamond. Rev. Ron Crow will officiate. A committal will follow in Carl Junction Cemetery. A memorial visitation is planned for Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Diamond.
