GOODMAN, Mo. —  

Remal H. Hively, 86, Goodman, Mo., died May 13, 2013, at Joplin, Mo., following a short illness.

Remal was born Nov. 9, 1926, in Cross Roads, Ark., and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a cattle and poultry farmer. Remal was a member of Splitlog Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and song leader.

He married Betty Louise Houpt on Nov. 2, 1949, in Springdale, Ark. She preceded him in death on June 23, 1994.

Remal is survived by two daughters, Debra Tanner and husband, John, Granby, Mo., and Carolyn Ceron and husband, Raul, Springfield, Mo.; two sons, Daryl Hively and wife, Whitney, Goodman, and Bruce Hively, Springfield, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Jason Noel Ceron, Tony Ceron, Christa Ceron, Curtis Hively, Billy Hively, Katy Lang, Lacey Hively, John Preston Tanner and Reilly Hively; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Eules Hively, Kennett, Mo., Oral Hively, Rogers, Ark., and R. C. Hively, St. Louis, Mo. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Cleamon Hively; and sister, Beulah Mae Doherty.

Services will be held on Friday, May 17, at 10 a.m. at Splitlog Baptist Church, Pastor Chadd Pendergraft will officiate. Interment will be in the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Hively, Billy Hively, Preston Tanner, Jason Noel Ceron, Tony Ceron and Kris Lang.  Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
