JOPLIN, Mo. —
Eliza Mae Chamberlain, 78 years, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Mae was born on July 25, 1934, in Poteau, Okla., daughter of the late William and Delitha (Giles) Osburn. She moved to Joplin in 1983, coming from Los Angeles, Calif.
Mae was a supervisor at Calmar, Inc., working in the quality control department as an inspector. She enjoyed fishing and cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
On March 27, 1987 she married the love of her life, Allan Chamberlain in Joplin, and spent 26 wonderful years together. Mae will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers, two grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Mae is survived by her seven children, Jimmy Collins, of Rock Island, Okla., Jess Collins, of Helena, Okla., Janice Parrish, of Claredon, Ark., Joyce Britton, of Southwest City, Okla., Billie Basset, of Joplin, Jeremy Chamberlain, of Joplin, and Evelyn Hess, of Las Vegas, Nev., 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family and friends who will deeply miss Mae.
A private family gathering to celebrate Mae's life will be held at a later date.
