JOPLIN, Mo. —
Frank L. Perrin, age 96, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1916, in St. Louis, Mo., to Peter J. Perrin and Emma Ettling Perrin. Frank was a World War II United States Navy veteran. He moved from St. Louis to Joplin in 1946, and went to work for WNBH radio as an engineer. Frank worked for Farmers Insurance Group for 20+ years and at his retirement he was an independent insurance agent. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City, had been an ecumenical minister at St. Peter's, a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, a member of Knights of Columbus and a member of Joplin Optimus Club.
Frank married Myrtle Schuessler on Oct. 9, 1938, and she preceded him in death; then he married Doris Cash Perrin on Nov. 14, 1989, in Miami, Okla., and she preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 2013.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Doug Perrin on Dec. 14, 2000; sisters, Dorothy Chapman and Grace Abdoo; and a brother Vince Perrin.
Frank is survived by sons, Kenneth Perrin, of Sarcoxie, Alvin Perrin, of Girard, Kan., Clinton Perrin and wife, Judy, of Bentonville Ark., James Perrin and wife, Veda, of Sarcoxie, Mark Perrin and wife, Barbara, of Seattle, Wash.; daughters, Mary Perrin, of Joplin, Theresa Patterson, Martha Teeter and husband, Mickey, of Joplin, Reine Houpt and husband, Don, of Lacey, Wash.; brothers, Andrew Perrin, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Robert Perrin, of Weldon Spring, Mo.; 32 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will have a memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Joplin. A visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice in his memory.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
