Jack H. "Johnnie" Anderson Jr.

JOPLIN, Mo. —

Jack Harold "Johnnie" Anderson Jr., his spirit went to be with the LORD on Tuesday morning, March 11, 2014, in Joplin, Mo., after a long illness.

Johnnie was born in Kansas City, Mo., on June 24, 1948, to the late Jack Harold Anderson Sr. and Lois L. Cox Newman. Jack was a native American,  a member of the Lakota Sioux. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1970.

Jack was reunited with his "sweetheart", Verdia Lee Miller, and they were married on Sept. 23, 2013. They shared what little time that he had left on this earth, with LOVE.

Jack had rededicated his life to the LORD in June 2013, and followed Christ our SAVIOR.

Jack has touched many lives during his lifetime, he is survived by his extended family and friends, Wilma "Mamma Willie" Everitt, Randy Davidson, Bobbie Rose, Camilla Smith, Jacqui Watkins and Yvelda "Joy" Shannon, all of Joplin.

Jack leaves his precious memories for all of us to remember. He was a man that could accomplish anything that he wanted. He was a hard worker and Jack of all trades. He loved to fish and tell stories; he could make you laugh, smile and cry at the same time.

Survivors include his wife, Verdia Lee Miller-Anderson, of Chillicothe, Mo.; daughter, Sheena Eastburn, of Chillicothe; and stepdaughter, Chrystal Rodriguez, of West Melbourne, Fla. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Harold Anderson Sr; his mother, Lois L. Cox Newman; his son, Brian Lee Anderson; brothers,  Tommy Anderson and Melvin Cox; a sister, Teresa Anderson; and a stepdaughter, Janice Martin.
