Harold "Cliff" Williams

WEBB CITY, Mo. — Harold "Cliff" Williams, 69, of Webb City, Mo., went home peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014, after battling a long illness.

Cliff was born on May 20, 1944, in Carthage, Mo., to L.D. And Neva Williams.

Cliff married Jean Marsden on Nov. 9, 1962.

Cliff is a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in Alaska, the Aleutian Islands and Panama City, Fla., from 1962 to 1966.

Cliff was licensed into the Ministry of God in 1975, and served as a pastor and Sunday school teacher for 39 years. His career as a construction project manager and small business owner allowed his walk with Jesus Christ to be exposed to all who had contact with him.

Cliff played all sports growing up in Carthage, with baseball as his favorite. During his adult life he enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching wrestling. Cliff loved watching Western movies, especially John Wayne.

Cliff is preceded in death by his father, L.D. Williams.

He is survived by a loving family including his wife, Jean, of 51 years; daughter, Robin Huston and her husband, Brian, of Crestwood, Ky.; son, Chad Williams and his wife, Melissa, of Oronogo, Mo.; son, Matt Williams and his wife, Emily, of Crestwood; and seven grandchildren, Blake Williams, Adam Williams, Taylor Huston, Nathan Huston, Lauren Huston, Landon Williams and Gavin Williams; mother, Neva Williams, of Carthage; brother, Bob Williams and his wife, Sharon, of Raytown, Mo.; and brother, George Williams and his wife, Kay, of Hopewell, Va.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, at Forest Park Baptist Church Chapel in Joplin, Mo.

Memorial contributions can be made to Forest Park Baptist Church, Forest Park Baptist Church Friends Class or Hospice Campassus.
