CARL JUNCTION, Mo. —
Jeffery Thomas Asbell, lifetime resident of Carl Junction, Mo., avid boater, story teller, racer, entrepreneur, accomplished pilot, joker, father and papa passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the age of 47.
Jeff was born Nov. 12, 1965, in Joplin, Mo., to Tom and Ruth Asbell. He graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1984. Jeff was an entrepreneur and had several successful businesses that operated, not only locally, but nationally.
He is survived by his three sons, Jacob Asbell and wife, Krista, Russell Asbell and Collin Asbell; mother of his children, Cindy Moran; his father, Tom Asbell; his sister, Anna Smith; granddaughters, Sophia and Austynn Asbell; and the love of his life, Jill Malin.
Jeff taught his sons to never take no for an answer, if you are loud enough - someone will eventually listen, and when you come to a fork in the road - sometimes you just need to pave your own path.
Jeff had many hobbies, but one of his favorites was going to the beach in Florida. Jeff lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with his granddaughters. Jeff had a young at heart personality and infectious laugh that was contagious to those around him.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Jerry Starks Auditorium on the main campus of Carl Junction Schools on Broadway Street in Carl Junction. A celebration of life will follow. Jeff would like you to stop by and re-tell stories that he can no longer tell.
Donations may be made to the Jeff Asbell Memorial through any US Bank location.
