GALENA, Kan. —
Ed E. "Grady" Youngblood, age 61, passed away at 7:58 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Mo.
Ed was born Dec. 23, 1951, in Joplin. His parents were Donald and Anna (Young) Youngblood. He was a lifetime resident of Galena.
He graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1970. He had worked at Able Manufacturing, Joplin, for the past 38 years. He was an avid fisherman. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their sports activities. He was a friend to everybody he met.
Ed was married to Rose Hamlin on Dec. 10, 1971, in Galena. She survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Ed Youngblood Jr. (wife, Tammy), Galena; one daughter, Jaime Medley (husband, Murl), Galena; three brothers, Kenny Youngblood, Galena, Guy Youngblood, Baxter Springs, Kan., and Jessie Youngblood, Galena; one sister, Donna Potter, Quapaw, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Gunnar Youngblood, Jarod Youngblood, Xander Berlieu and Dayli Berlieu. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jay Youngblood, Donnie Youngblood and Mark Youngblood; and one sister, Phyllis Thompson.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena.
